Superior court

Superior court

Superior court is a court of general jurisdiction, as opposed to inferior courts such as municipal court or small claims court.

A superior court is a court that has unlimited jurisdiction as opposed to lower courts which is restricted to civil cases, or criminal cases involving less serious offenses. A superior court may hear appeals from lower courts and supreme courts may hear appeals from superior courts (see appeal).
