Misrepresentation

A concept of English law, a statement, term or anything done in respect of a contract which turns out to be untrue and which has induced another party to the contract to enter into it in the first place.

Misrepresentation may be innocent, negligent or fraudulent misrepresentation. Misrepresentation, most especially fraudulent misrepresentation, nullifies a contract, if it is successfully proved.
