The Latin term "damnum sine injuria" means “damage without legal injury”. This refers to an injury which a person has suffered but for which there is no remedy at law.

For example, if a person is driven out of business as a result of stiff competition from his business opponents, though an injury has been suffered, the law does not provide any remedy for such unfortunate business person. It is an injury but not a legal injury.
